Hi...I am wanting an 'idiots guide' on how to change the account/name on my nest thermostat...it was installed in my ex's name, and since we split up, I am unable to set the system up on the app and thermostat, so have to do everything manually. I have installed the nest app on my fone, but am unable to connect it to the thermostat...I know I need to go to factory settings on the thermostat, but unable to go any further without the fear of doing something wrong...any help would be appreciated..thank you.....x

Not to worry, that's what we're here for! Try these steps:
- On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
- Turn the ring to select Reset, then select Account Connection. If you don't see this option, you'll need to select All Settings, which resets the thermostat.
- On the Nest app home screen on your phone or tablet, tap the Settings cog.
- Tap Add product. The app will switch to a camera view to scan the thermostat’s QR code.
- On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
- Turn the ring to select Nest app and press to open it.
- Select QR code. Your thermostat will show you a unique QR code to scan with the app. If it doesn't, tap Continue without scanning in the app and select Get entry key on your thermostat instead.
- Follow the remaining steps in the Nest app.
