I have been nest user for years and added a heat pump. I did get it working but I had to use the sub optimal setting because the intelligent heat pump range does now allow for cold climate heat pump that goes to -30 C. The software limit for heat pump needs to be adjusted or specify a cold climate heat pump.
my work around causes more aux heat usage and not able to use the heat pump settings like how many hours to warm up.

Hi Stephen. Check out the Airzone Aidoo Pro and the Intesis HVAC Interface/Gateway. These may allow you to use a Nest / 24volt thermostat without necessarily dumbing down the OEM controls of your heat pump.

my request was to use the intelligence for heat pump balance points as an option but the limit in the software does not go low enough 40 F / 4 C is too high. My new heat pump can go to -30 C
