Hi, I recently purchased two Nest Thermostats (the basic model) for my dual-zone hvac system.
I’ve discovered that the basic Nest Thermostat is not compatible with the Nest Temp Sensor. So, I was thinking of getting the Nest Learning Thermostat for our main home area and to use with the Sensor. In addition, use the Nest Thermo (basic) upstairs by the bedrooms.
Are there any benefits to using two Nest Learning Thermostats vs Nest Thermostat + Nest Learning Thermo?
In other words do I need to buy two of the same nest thermos for two separate zones?
Id love to save a little money and not get two of the high end model of I don’t have to.

No, you do not need to buy two of the same, as long as the basic thermostat could handle all the functions you need for that system you’re good to go
