Compatibility?

I am not sure if my system is compatible with any nest thermostat. I know it is not compatible with the Nest Thermostat, but I don’t know if it is with the learning or the e thermostat.

Yes, I did. It then directed me to post a question here.

Hey folks,

Thanks for answering, johnCNA.

@Anna2, appreciate the photo of your old thermostat wires. Do you happen to have a dual fuel system? This is also called a hybrid or packaged system which is a combination of a heat pump for primary heating and cooling, and a furnace (usually gas or oil) that provides a second and/or third stage of heating. If yes, our Nest Learning Thermostat should work for you. However, you will need to have a trained professional set up your thermostat. It’s important for a professional to assess the requirements for your specific dual fuel configuration since choosing incorrect options for a dual fuel system can result in damage to your system. Contact a local pro to better explain what needs to be done.

Best,

Melba

Your current thermostat is only compatible with the Nest 3rd Gen Learning Thermostat.

I would suggest wiring it like this.

Green - G to G

Blue - C to C

Red - R to Rc

Yellow - Y to Y1

White - W2 to W2

Brown - E to * (set as emergency heat)

Orange  - O to OB
