Connecting Nest thermostat to second account

So we have just bought a nest learning thermostat and nest mini bundle. After HOURS of trying to set the system up and finding out the numerous bugs in the google system 🤔 my partner has finally managed to get both the thermostat and the nest mini onto our shared google home.

Now the problem, my partner has the thermostat on his nest and google home app and both the thermostat and the nest mini are working fine on his phone. I am unable to use the thermostat from my phone, it says ‘offline’ and I can’t add the thermostat to my nest app as it is already ‘registered’ to my partners account. The mini is working fine on my phone.

We’re struggling to work out where the problem lies, any help would be much appreciated.

@Kay2889

You shouldn't have to separately add the thermostat to the Google Nest app. If you are a member of your partner's Google Nest "household" and are accessing the same Google Nest "home/structure" where you are a household member, then you should see the thermostat. If you see it and it is "offline", I've seen other customers report that same issue, where it shows offline for one household member. I haven't seen any resolution except waiting and trying later. You could try signing out of the Google Nest app and signing back on.

Thank you, I will wait and see if it works later. I’ve signed into my partners google home and nest for now so I can see everything for the time being 😊
