Hi RICH29,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that If you're having  problems connecting thermostat to heat pad in the cupboard. Are you located in North America or Europe? And what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? You may follow these simple steps:

  1. Verify that your Wi-Fi network can reach your thermostat. The heat pad can be the source of the connectivity problems if it is far away or obscured. To strengthen the signal, think about putting the thermostat closer to the heat pad or utilizing a Wi-Fi range extender.
  2. Try restarting your thermostat by first turning it off for a short while, then back on. This can assist in reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network and resetting the connection.
  3. Make sure the Wi-Fi network your thermostat is connected to is the correct one. Check that the network name and password that you supplied in the thermostat settings are correct. Re-enter the Wi-Fi credentials to create a new connection if needed.
  4. Verify that your Wi-Fi network meets the requirements needed to connect to the thermostat. Certain thermostats need to be compatible with particular network standards, including frequency bands or network security protocols. Check here on Wi-Fi networks that are incompatible or aren’t recommended article for more.
  5. Restarting your router can sometimes fix connectivity problems. After a few minutes, switch your router back on after turning it off. By doing so, you may be able refresh the network and possibly fix any temporary connectivity problems.
  6. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your thermostat. Updating the firmware can address potential bugs or compatibility issues that may be affecting the connectivity.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
