Controlling Nest on App

Did something change within the nest app on Android or do I need to fix something? I can no longer control my Nest thermostat on my app. My Nest is connected to my wifi and the only thing my app allows me to do it change from "away" to "home." But I cannot turn my thermostat on/off, see any activity, or adjust temperatures/modes.

Sorry to hear about your Nest thermostat. So far we're not aware of changes made on the Nest app itself so I want to dig deeper into what happened.

 

A few questions — were there recent changes made on your thermostat, WiFi network, Nest account/app, or phone recently before this started happening? Since you mentioned that you could only change from "Away" or "Home" on your Nest app, you don't see your thermostat there, right? Also, is this happening only on your mobile device or across all devices where you're trying to control your thermostat from? 

 

Please tell me more so I could investigate it further.

No changes have been made to my knowledge. It did get disconnected from wifi at 1 point due to power outage, but the nest device it. You are correct, I do not see my thermostat on my phone. I only use the app on my phone to control the thermostats (when it was available) I have no other device I use for it.

Got it — thanks for these added details. Are you signing in to your Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option or the "Sign in with Nest" one? Also, by any chance do you have access to a computer? If yes, could you try logging in using the same email address and password at https://bit.ly/3gW4i8w on your computer's browser?
