Cooling Set Temp and Actual not in sync

Hank10590

Thermostat cooling set at 76 degrees.  Cools to 76.  Then temp in house rises to 77 degrees and cooling doesn't start automatically.  No other sensors in the house.   Why doesn't thermostat trigger AC to turn on?

Hello Hank10590,

I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you — let's see what's going on.

Could you share a photo of your thermostat's wiring? Also, I found a helpful article with some troubleshooting steps if you're experiencing any odd HVAC system behavior. Please take a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.

Thanks,

Mark
