Hi Humor1011,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is not working as expected and is showing errors. But no need to worry, help's here!

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  1. What Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  2. What type of system do you have? (Heat Pump or conventional type)
  3. How many wires are there?
  4. How are the wires labeled?
  5. Is the display seated? (Does it properly lock itself into the base?)
  6. Are all wires firmly seated into the terminals? (with no loose or exposed wires)
  7. Are you able to share a picture of your wiring?

Here are some basic steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue in the meantime:

Battery Issues:

  • Verify Battery Installation: Ensure the batteries are installed correctly and securely.
  • Battery Quality: If using non-Nest batteries, try using Nest-recommended batteries.

Restart Thermostat:

  • Power Cycle the Thermostat: Turn off the breaker that supplies power to your HVAC system for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on. However you can check the following article to Restart or reset a Nest thermostat depending on your device's model.

In case it helps, you can check the following articles to review the Thermostat error codes and messages or to Troubleshoot when your thermostat won’t turn on.

Please keep me posted.

Best,

Mario
