DESPERATE to stop auto scheduling and have tried EVERYTHING

I bought a home that has a learning nest thermostat.  I factory reset it.  

I have tried all the advice I can find - my Home/Away assist is set to off.  My auto schedule is set to off.  

I manually set it when I leave to heat at 50 degrees and to cool at 80... so it should very seldom run when I am gone.  I just want it to do what I manually tell it to do.  But the house is a rental so a smart thermostat will be useful to set it with my phone back to the settings I prefer when a renter vacates.

When I check my app -with these settings - it shows many scheduled settings every day of the week.  I have removed them and they re-populate.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat keeps changing its temperature randomly. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

If you have a Google Home app, please check the Routines feature or settings to see if there are any thermostat actions that may trigger the temperature change. Remove or edit if needed.

Thanks Mike!  I ended up getting someone from Google customer support on the phone and we painstakingly did all the steps that I thought I had already done... but apparently not or not in the right order because it actually worked and my nest has stopped scheduling.
