The display on my thermostat is stuck on save at home, I read the thread about this and there was no resolution posted, the display on my thermostat is stuck on a screen that says save it home. I cannot do anything beyond that. I have taken the batteries out to try to restart it. I can't even understand how to reset it

If you tap the side of the thermostat and slide your finger down the side like you're going to change the heat setting, it will advance to the next question for you to do the same. This happened to me this morning and I was freaking out that it was locked up and the heat stopped. I found this answer by googling the message. Google Nest engineers dropped the ball on this one.
To Google if you're paying attention: you should NOT be sending messages to the thermostat where the UI is not intuitive; send them to the mobile device operating the thermostat.

I have moved my finger up and down many time on the right side but nothing happened!
I took out the battery as well, but it did not help at all.

Thank you so much! I tapped all the sides all the way around and it did eventually reset it just took a bunch of taps,

Thanks for the info of "tapped all the sides all the way around"!
I used four fingers to hold the ring at different spots and rotated around, it brought the thermostat back.
How does Google assume that the users know this trick?
