Do I Need a C-Wire or Can I swap G to C?

I got a new 5 Ton Carrier HVAC. It has gas forced air and a/c. I installed a 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat and when I turn the A/C on, it doesn’t turn the compressor on. It makes this clicking noise. See videos here:

I placed Y to Y1, G to G, R to Rc, and W to W1. The Nest would not work so I put back the old thermostat but would love to get the Nest working. It sounds like it needs a C wire but I also researched that I can use the G fan control wire and use it as C and switch it at the control board.
