I wired up the base plate without a C wire (the old thermostat did not have one). As soon as I plugged in the thermostat the draft inducer began running. After completing installation and configuration the DI was still running, even after turning the thermostat off. Only after disconnecting the White (call for heat) wire did the fan stop. The old thermostat has a jumper wire between RC and RH. I believe I have a single transformer heating/cooling system. Suggestions?

Hi Jake,
Nope, still not working correctly after adding a C wire to the Nest Thermostat... How should I proceed?
Thanks,
Dave2

Hey Dave2,
I am sorry to hear you are still running into the issue. Do you mind me asking if you are able to send in a picture of your current wire set up for me to review? Please let me know once that has been sent, so I can review the system further.
Best regards,
Jake

Hi Jake,
Hope these pics help. The first shows the connection of the white with blue stripe wire (that is connected to the "C" terminal on the control board) connected to the blue wire (goes to the thermostat connection plate). The second pic shows the white with blue stripe connected to the furnace control board "C" terminal. The third pic shows the connections at the Nest connection plate with the blue wire connected to the "C" terminal. Note that the white wire is intentionally disconnected so the draft inducer fan does NOT run continuously (even with the thermostat mode set to OFF.

Hey Dave2,
Thanks so much for reaching back out and providing the pictures for me to review. Taking a closer look, I am not showing why the system would run continually. Everything seems to be wired correctly on my end. I would recommend having a Nest Pro come out and take a closer look. They would be able to review the HVAC system, and find the main cause of the issue.
Sorry about that. Please let me know if you have any other questions from here.
Best regards,
Jake
