"E" error codes are sometimes caused by miswiring the thermostat or they can also be caused by a worn part on the system’s control board which will require service by a professional.

I've linked a help centre article below that will help you troubleshoot this. Specifically, you should refer to the "Troubleshoot an E code" section. Do let us know what happens when you try these steps? Try to be as detailed as possible so we know how best to advise.

I'm experiencing the same issue however i had a technician out and he was able to get my thermostat to work for a few days.  Old Rogers and White thermostat works fine.  Google nest worked fine last year until a relay on the heat side was replaced which was stuck open.  Bought a new google nest considering I was told the old one was damaged by the bad relay.  The new one worked great until I got ready to kick my heat on for the first time now i get an e102 error W1 overcurrent.  My HVAC guy was able to get the heat working and it cycled on and off about 12 times over a period of time fine before he left.  He could not get the thermostat to duplicate the error.  After running fine on heat for 2 days it started throwing the error again.  Once again I installed the old rogers and white thermostat and it's working exactly as it should.  Google support has not been much help.  The new thermostat was purchased in August of this year and I don't know if I can get my money back.  Ideally I would like the thermostat to work as it provides convenience and functionality I prefer.  I have a 5 wire system all voltage and lin etc have checked out fine.  W1-Y1-G-C-Rc/Rh.  On my old thermostat I have a jumper from Rc to Rh.  There is no jumper externally on the nest as each connection only has 1 wire.

Similar situation. Any updates?
