I have a rental home that is often used by Airbnb guests. We have 8 different NEST thermostats controlling three separate heat pumps and a few zones. We were having trouble with guests trying to make a heat pump cool and heat at the same time and setting wacky temperatures so we locked the 8 thermostats in cool mode and gave guests a temp range they can choose from. The challenge is that when the house is empty we want the thermostats to go into eco-mode to not waste energy, but then guests arrive and they can’t get out of the eco-mode without a PIN number. Is there a way to not require a pin to get out of eco-mode but still have the thermostat locked once it starts normal operations again? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Hi A-Ro,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Google Nest Community.
When the Nest Thermostat has a lock or PIN activated, there's no way that other people can change its settings. We'll take this feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve our product and services.
Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts here in the the Nest Community.
Regards,
Ryan
