Error code on display

Debbie-Schmidt
Community Member

We have 1 or 2 gen Nest and are trying to connect to Google Hone.  We thought we needed to remove the display to try to find the serial number and when we placed the display back on, got an error message that there is no power to the Rh wire.  The wire is intact and the small button is pushed, but it still won’t read.  Now we can’t get past the error to turn the thermostat back on.

Hi Debbie-Schmidt,

Thanks for reaching out. It shows that your Nest Thermostat detects the wire mechanically but not electrically. Could you please check its power readout by going to the Technical Info?

Please check out this guide:

  1. Ensure that the power breaker is on.
  2. Power cycle your breaker.
  3. If you have a voltmeter, check the voltage of your power wire.
  4. Straighten and flatten your power wire and reinsert it to the RH terminal. Ensure to turn the breaker off before touching the wires.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Jenelyn
