My daughter cannot connect her Nest Thermostat 3 to my account. I have read all of the trouble shooting and tried everything. Literally everything. And the super odd thing is that I can connect her device with my iPhone and my google account to MY nest account (that controls my home thermostat) - and can giver her access to that account as a last resort, but that is not a sustainable solution. We both have iPhones (hers is a 15 and mine a 13). We both have google accounts. I have had a Nest account for years (and I have multiple Nest thermostats at home, both older and new generation). She is just trying to connect on simple thermostat to her one account. We have spent hours on this and even after being on the phone with Tech Services, still nothing.
Any ideas people?

@Bdallet A thermostat can only be setup and owned by one account in one home structure. If you experience issues during setup, try these steps:

Once setup and added to a home, you need to follow these steps to share it with others:

Understood. However, my daughter tried setting up to her phone and her best account first for several hours with no success. Just to see if it would work, I tried to add it to my Google home and that seem to work. That’s not a long-term solution as she lives in her own apartment and I live in my house. Thus I disconnected And had her try again. Still did not work.

What exactly happens when she's tries to set it up?
What model of thermostat is it?

You mentioned she's using an iPhone 15, is it running the latest version of iOS and the latest version of the Nest app or Google Home app as appropriate?

Nest Thermostat E is setup using the Nest app, just to check that's the case?
Do you see a TD error in the Nest app, such as TD008 or TD013 or an M15 error on the thermostat screen at all?

Yes. TD008

Alright, in that case I'd recommend the thermostat troubleshooter.
Nest Thermostat Troubleshooter
At the start select Help message > Let's get started > Nest Thermostat E > TD > Type 008 > Continue.
