I just got the Google Nest thermostat, everything works fine from my phone but when I try to include a family member to my home account the person receives the mail notification and when when accepted it shows a message “Cannot join family”
Please help!!

Sorry to hear about this but thanks for reaching out.
I want to confirm some details of your Nest account as well as the person you're adding as a member of your household. Is your Nest account ending in @Gmail.com? Same goes to the email address that you've sent an invitation to, does it also have an @Gmail.com domain? If one of them does not, I'm afraid you'd get this message you've posted. They both need to Gmail accounts without any added restrictions.

Yes, both (my wife and daughter) email accounts are gmail accounts but are not able to see our home.
