Running fan icon has disappeared. Any idea of how to get it back?

Are you looking for that in the Nest app? I have noticed that the running fan icon randomly appears or does not appear when I open the Nest app. But if I look at the Nest itself, it always shows. I believe it is a random bug in the Nest app.

Hey folks,
Thanks for answering, johnCNA.
@TedS, what type of thermostat do you have? Fan controls differ slightly depending on which thermostat you have. Check this out to know more about fan control when using a Nest thermostat: https://bit.ly/3sjMcCP
Hope this helps.

Same thing has happened to me. I have a gen 3 Nest. I don’t use the fan icon a lot, but this weekend I wanted to run the fan to circulate the air without turning the heat on. The icon for the fan is no longer in the app? Why would Google eliminate this option?

I have the same issue. I installed the thermostat for the first time 2 weeks ago, and I never saw the fan icon.
I need to run the fans regularly because I miss an exhaust on the kitchen.

My issue was the wire going to the ‘G’ terminal had become loose. Once I reseated it the fan icon came back.

nest thermo wiringapparently whoever did the installation didn't connect the green and this other cable.
maybe I can try to pull the green a bit and connect it..
I'll try to update this thread with my findings.

Mine has done that also..must be their software...I think it was better before Google bought it.I rebooted the nest thermostat manually the other day and it reappeared...mine also if you go to the thermostat itself the fan is running..I think google better get their act together
