Fan Runs by no cooling - Nest Learning T-stat

Just installed a new nest learning thermostat.  When the t-stat is set to cooling it turns on the fan and blows air, but the air conditioning is not turning on.  I checked outside and the condensing unit isn't running.  Old T-Stat had Y, G, C, W, and R wires.  Nest Wires connected are Y1, G, C, W1, and RH.

Hi @JChrisSmith33,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Learning Thermostat isn't working as expected and the fan runs with no cooling. Help's here!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • Do you have an error code?
  • Did you verify if Fan and Heating still work?
  • Did you have this inconvenience with the previous thermostat?
  • Have you made any recent changes to the HVAC system?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

  • Power Readings: Check power readings on the Nest Thermostat. by going to Settings >Technical Info > Power. And provide me the following: VOC, VIN, IIN.
  • Check the air filter: Your HVAC system requires good airflow to work properly. A clog in the air filter can limit how much air flows over the cooling coils. If the clog persists, the cooling coils can freeze and cause your system to shut off.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany
