Fan running even when Cool/Heat is off

JGabs34

I’ve been having problems with my Nest 3rd gen. When I first turn on the AC to Cool, the AC kicks on with little issue. 20 minutes later, the cold air stops coming through and the fan stays running continuously, even when I turn off everything. The only way to stop the running fan is to disconnect the Nest from the wall. Today I waited 10 minutes, and when I returned the Nest back to the wall, the fan kicks on without me turning anything on. And the AC only cools after about 4 hours of non-operation. Please help with this problem. This is not fun in So. California in July.

We are also experiencing the same issue and live in Nor-Cal. Fan runs continuously even when the thermostat is turned off.

Try turning Airwave off in the settings.

All things regarding the fan, including Airwave, has been turned off. I also restarted the Nest so the settings would take effect.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts here in the Google Nest Community.

I'd like to jump in here and check a couple of things for us to further help JGabs34.

The first thing we need to check is the G wire from the terminal. Make sure it is properly inserted and if possible, re-strip it to make sure the contact is fine. Next, go to settings > equipment > select the right heat source and type.

Let us know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Regards,

Ryan
