This is a request to have an option for humidity setpoint to automatically adjust based on current outdoor temperature and humidity.
Setting the Nest humidity level to a specific setpoint can cause condensation if/when outdoor temperatures drop. This will lead to mold and various other issues. There should be an option to have the Nest Learning Thermostat automatically adjust humidity setpoints based on current outdoor temperature and humidity levels.
Outdoor temperature | Optimal indoor humidity level |
25°F to 50°F | Max. 40% |
0°F to 25°F | 30% – 40% |
-20°F to 0°F | 20% – 30% |
Below -20°F | 15% – 20% |
