[Feature request] Utilizing thermometer data to control fan to equalize temperatures

This is a well-worn topic - I'm surprised it's still unaddressed.

I bought the Nest thermometer to address a large temperature gradient in my house.  I thought surely the system was smart enough to run the fan to attempt to equalize the temperatures.  I was dumbfounded when I realized it did not use the temperature info from both the thermometer and the thermostat but instead you had to choose one (which would just cause the opposite problem for me).

I'm returning the thermometer today.  However, I really wanted this to work - please fix it so I can get another one!
