What do I do if I forgot my Pin Code and my device is no longer appearing on my nest App, we changed net provides so it’s not connected to wifi anymore! How can I rest thermostat back to factory settings?
Remove the nest face from the base. Plug the nest into your computer with a mini USB cable. Wait for the nest device to mount as drive. Open the drive. You should have a file called "Technical Info.plist"
Make a new file in that drive called ".dropbox". Paste the following contents into the file and save:
Unplug the Nest from the computer and plug it into the base unit. It will prompt that its going to reset to defaults. Give it a few minutes. It'll reset to defaults - then just go through the on-screen guided setup.
This would be a lot easier if Google just POSTS this information in a help page instead of making you go through their technical support chat/call.
