Hello. Recently purchased the nest thermostat and while I’m installing the wires right now, I came across a message that it needs a power adapter for the C wire on the app.
After clicking the link on the google home iOS app, a new window popped up with the image of the power but says it’s sold out. Nowhere on the page allows me to get the free power adapter or to purchase one.
help?

This does not answer the question. The question is about Google being out of stock of the connectors. Which makes the device useless until it’s available.

Hello kadelmar,
I appreciate you staying informed with me. Regarding the question, the Nest Power Connectors are currently out of stock, but don't worry; we will notify you as soon as they are back available. Alternatively, you can acquire a Nest Power Connector from a third-party retailer.

I have the same problem, but one step back. I get to the installation page that says "You need a free Next Power Connector", that has a link in it: "free Nest Power Connector". That link does not open at all when clicked. How exactly do I "...open the provided link in the app..."? if that is the link it does not work. What are the alternative ways to place an order?

Daniel, thank you for your response regarding my inability to order the free Nest Power Connector because the link in the Google/Nest app does not work. I guess you are saying that the link should work if I open the Nest thermostat installation tool on a different device, and/or a different browser. I'll give that a try.

Hello Thewakewichs,
Thank you so much for posting. I understand you received the promotion link to get the Nest power connector. So I’ll be more than glad to assist.
Let's try a factory reset on your thermostat. Check out this guide for help: Restart or reset a Nest thermostat. Once reset, reinstall it using the Google Home app. When you reach the testing phase, you'll likely see a notification prompting you to obtain a Nest Power Connector, and you will get this promotion again.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Regards,
Daniel

When it does come back in stock, will I still be able to get it for free or will it no longer be available due to being offer being expired

Hey Henry124,
In this case, this promotion won't expire for you. When we get more devices in stock, simply try to start the setup process and then redeem it.

Daniel

Hello and Happy New year.
My nest is currently on Battery power (which I've been replacing with Duracell disposables). It no longer connects to Wifi at all, even if I restart the device.
On the website to purchase the nest C wire adapter, I can no longer get it for free despite what moralesvicente has said about the promotion not expiring.
The error messages i've been able to capture and take pics of are m22 m21 m20 m25 n261.
Who can I reach out to get the C wire adapter?

Hello Henry124,
I appreciate you keeping me in the loop. To acquire the Nest Power Connector, try performing a factory reset on your thermostat; for your reference, here's an article: Restart or reset a Nest thermostat. Then, follow the instructions to install your thermostat again on the Google Home app. When you’re in the section to test the device, you should receive the notification to get this Nest Power Connector.
Let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
Daniel

Thank you for your response. I managed to order the c wire adapter. I appreciate all the help this community has provided. I’ll try to factory reset the nest to get the WiFi working again

I joined the string because I thought I needed a C wire adapter. The free ones were unavailable. So I looked again at my available thermostat wires coming out of the wall. I found that there was a brown wire that was not connected to the old thermostat. Brown wires are typically “C“ wires. I connected the C wire to the thermostat and then went to the furnace and connected the C wire to the open C slot. It worked! No need for an adapter.

I just had N260 issue and contacted Nest support as I needed to add a C wire or use the power connector. I mentioned the free power connector offer in the help docs. The rep I got had to ask a supervisor and they approved a free power connector and I just got it overnight FedEx delivery 1/24/25. I was told it was only for new installs and I bought Nest over 2 years ago. Good luck, it's worth trying.
