Gen 2 to Gen 3 learning thermostat upgrade - order of operations?

Hello,

I'd like to confirm the correct order of operations when upgrading my Gen 2 Nest Thermostat to a Gen 3

I believe i should

Pre-Work: (note current settings on my existing Gen 2 via web or mobile interface. I took pictures of the current setup for ease)

A) Remove from my Account

B) Reset Gen 2 (as i'm giving this to someone new)

C) Remove Gen 2 from it's location (cut power, take off face plate, note wires, remove wires)

D) Run thru setup for Gen 3

E) Make sure new settings match my old ones noted in Pre-Work

F) Celebrate my success. 

Sound about right?
