Nest was working fine and connected to wifi for over 3 years. All of a sudden it disconnected and is unable to even find any wifi networks. I even tried standing next to it with my phone providing a hot spot but it didn't see any network.
I tried restarting my router and cycling the power multiple times, resetting the thermostat, doing a factory reset on the thermostat and disconnecting the thermostat and reconnecting. Nothing had worked. And now that I did a factory reset I even lost my schedules with no way to reprogram without connectivity.
I reached out to Google and they only further help they offered since the device was out of warranty was to send me a link to buy a new one. I found this insulting given the device was defective to no fault of my own. Why would I buy another of it lasted just 3 years and they could not help fix?
Does anyone have any suggestions to fix? Or suggestions on other thermostats o could replace with that is of better quality?
