Hi Berto24,

Thanks for posting in the Community! Sorry to hear that your Nest Learning Thermostat Gen 3 isn’t connecting to the Heat Link.  No worries, help is here! I’d like to ask you a few questions to gather more information:

  1. What is the color of your Heat Link's light?
  2. How is the Heat Link being powered when you're trying to pair it?
  3. Did you try to take the Heat Link out of Manual Mode?

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Axel.

Hi Axel, thanks for your reply

The heat link lights is continuously blinking blue, the heat link is powered by mains power through the boiler as installed and I'm not sure what you mean by taking the heat link out of manual mode as that's currently the only way I can operate the boiler system.

My concern is that maybe the gen3 thermostat is faulty as the videos I see of the thermostat trying to link to the heat link show writing as well as an image of the heat link, my unit shows no writing.

Many Thanks

Chris

Hi Berto24,

Thanks for your reply and the information you provided. It’s recommended that you have a professional installer install your Heat Link. If the Heat Link is blinking blue, it’s ready to pair. If you can’t see the screen showing the Heat Link photo and the script, don’t worry. Let's try some troubleshooting steps that might fix the issue:

Restart the thermostat display:

  1. Press and hold the display for 10-15 seconds until it turns off.If the display doesn't restart, remove it from the base and squeeze it to restart.
  2. After fully restarting, if the error persists and the devices aren't connecting automatically, select "Check Again." The devices will try to connect automatically if possible.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Axel
