The history has stopped feeding back the usage per day. It works very sporadically and doesn’t seem to be very accurate. Why is this happening?

Could you please tell us the Nest Thermostat model you have? Were there any instances that it went through a non-orderly restart at some point of the day? Which wasn't restarted properly by selecting Settings > Reset > Restart. Also, try checking your energy history via the Nest Web App, and make sure to sign in to the email account associated with your thermostat.
