Google Nest Learning Thermostat suddenly stopped working (offline)

My Google Nest Learning Thermostat suddenly stopped working (offline) after three months. I tried charging it using a USB cable, but it became extremely hot after about an hour of charging. When I put it back on the wall socket, it went into a restart loop, showing a message to connect it back to the wall and displaying a black screen with a red flashing light. Can someone from Google guide me on how to fix this problem?

By the way, I have tried all the suggestions online and even purchased an external power supply for c-wire charging, but none of them fixed the problem.

Can google specialist help for this topic? It looks like lots of events reported on internet from multiple users since 2023.

Please Google for help with this issue. I couldn't tolerate the heat, so I bought a new one on Amazon. However, a device that's only been used for 3 months is unacceptable to me. I'd like to know how Google will handle this, as I'm concerned it might happen again soon and I'll have to look for another device.

thank you for taking care of this issue for me. I got both for same model from Amazon (learning 3rd gen). I just submitted it.
