Google Nest Thermostat Cooling On and Off and Starting

Hi Everyone,

I've had a Google Nest Thermostat for about a year now and it finally started acting up while we are in the worst heat wave ever. I pretty much always have it on Cool and set to auto, now it turns on and off quickly, and turns off after a minute without even hitting the desired temperature. The screen also says "Starting" sometimes a countdown from 2 minutes. I already tried restarting, turning my power breakers on and off, changing out the battery, and finally resetting and the problem is still happening. I live in an Apartment with my wife and 2 toddlers. Hope someone can help please.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

 

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? 
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • What is the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You could find this information by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.
