Google home not sending notifications from Nest Thermostat

My furnace had a mechanical issue and was not turning on.  The thermostat had power and was calling for heat.  Google Home is supposed to notify me if:

"It identifies heating failures by monitoring your indoor temperature while your system is heating. For example, you'll receive an alert if the indoor temperature decreases while the heating system is supposed to be on."

From: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10116949

I have the notifications on but was not alerted.  Thanks!

Hi, @LSR1999!

Thank you for your prompt response. I appreciate you providing the information requested, as it helps me offer more accurate troubleshooting steps.

To ensure you receive notifications from your Nest Thermostat, please verify the following:

  • Check that your Nest Thermostat is online. If the device is offline, please refer to this article: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi and connection issues.
  • Check that you're signed in to the correct account in the app. You can only be signed in to one account in the Nest app at a time, and you will only receive push notifications for the homes associated with the account you’re currently signed in to. If you have more than one account, or if you allowed someone else to sign in to their account on your phone or tablet, you might be signed in to the wrong account.
  • Ensure notifications and emails are configured correctly for each device you have. For instructions, see this article: Learn about notifications and how to change settings.
  • Ensure your device isn’t in airplane mode and has a good cellular and Wi-Fi connection. Weak signals, especially in remote areas, can delay notifications and emails.
  • Ensure your phone or tablet’s settings aren’t blocking notifications from the Nest app. The links below will take you to Apple’s and Google’s support websites:

If you’re still not having any luck getting notifications, check if you can get them on a different mobile device. Install the Nest app and sign in to your account to check if you can get notifications on that device.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana
