Google nest learning thermostat and heat link error H71

Hi,

I have had a nest thermostat and heat link arrangement for a little over a year, when first setting up it was a bit temperamental but after that it has worked fine……..until a couple of days ago. I kept getting error H71 and no matter what I do (I’ve followed every single piece of advice I could find online) the thermostat and heat link will not pair. I have now tried to reset back to factory settings and remove from my app in an attempt to re-set up the whole thing and because I still get H71 I am now stuck in an endless loop where every time I try to do anything with setup it stops and shows H71 error message…….now in a right old mess!

desperately need some help.

Are you connected wireless to the stat, not hard wired?

Yes wireless connection

Ok, what you need to do now is connect the stat to the Heat Link wired even as a temp job.

That way you will get your self out of the loop situation your in.

Just connect T1-T2 from H/L to Stat base, and you will get the problem solved. Get any 2 core flex or 2 bits of cable, and wire as a temp job to get into the settings, and factory reset. Then follow setup from there. Hope it works.

Hey @Metin,

I'm really sorry to hear about your situation, but I'd like to help you out. Can you tell me what LED you have on your Heat Link? Also, how far is the thermostat from the Heat Link? One other thing that would be helpful is a picture of the Heat Link placement and picture of what you see when you go into Tech Info> Power.
