Google nest thermostat cools to heat

Anybody else having issues where you have it set to heat and at night it will go below our set temp of 74 and when at 72 it cools to 68 and won't heat.  Only does this when we sleep.  During the day it will heat right away and won't even go below 74 when it kicks on.  I have deleted all of the eco, sleep, etc times and have only the one setting but still doesn't help, it works fine every time except during our sleep hours

I have had issues with my Nest thermostat since last couple of days. When it is on eco, the boiler fires at certain temperature and then does not turn off at all. There is an issue with Google Nest and they are messing around with everyone by manipulating the system. It was working well all this time and suddenly the cold spell comes and it's keeps running does not shut down making people pay huge gas bills. There is some kind of conspiracy going on between Google Nest, the govt and the energy companies. Dont trust all this technology as they act as big brother controlling us all.

Hi everyone,

@Goglethermoh8r, thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We're sorry for any trouble this may have caused you. What type of Nest thermostat do you have? Depending on the Nest Thermostat, it may adapt to your daily routine, but we have ways to make it work the way you prefer. For Example. On the Nest Learning Thermostat, if you recently turned off the auto-schedule, the previous setup might still be in effect. The same goes if you have already set up a manual schedule and remove it; there might be a chance that it will adjust the schedule accordingly. This is part of the Nest Learning Thermostat algorithm, but it can easily be fixed by starting fresh on the device. After resetting it to factory default and turning off the auto-schedule right away, follow the steps below:

  1. On your thermostat, go to Nest Learning Thermostat Settings Reset Schedule.
  2. Go to Settings Nest Sense Auto-Schedule (Turn off Auto-Schedule).

Those steps will help us start fresh and clear out all the schedule and auto-schedule setup on the Nest Thermostat.

But if you have a Nest thermostat, what we recommend is to reset it to factory reset. Follow the steps below:

Remove the Nest Thermostat from your Google Home app.

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings, Remove Device, and Remove.

Once done, reset the Nest thermostat to factory reset.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. select Factory Reset.
  3. Your thermostat will ask you to confirm your choice. Once you've confirmed, your thermostat will take a few moments to reset.

@Sundeeppatel7, I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here. Let's see what's going on. Gather the power reading of your Nest Thermostat.

For the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu.
  2. Turn the ring to Settings and press to select.
  3. Turn the ring to Technical Info and press to select.

For the Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Tap the touch bar to bring up the Menu view.
  2. Slide your finger down to Settings, then tap to select.
  3. Slide your finger to Equipment > Power Info.

I look forward to your response.

Best,

Renz
