Nest Learning Thermostat will not connect to WiFi error TD004(3.65)

I have had my Nest for a couple of years with no connectivity issues. In the past month, it consistently lost connectivity. Somehow the time was lost and the scheduled on-off for the heat was impacted (which is how we knew it was happening). The Nest app showed the upstairs Thermostat was disconnected. I have a second Nest Learning Thermostat downstairs which continues to operate with no issues. It shows connected to the same WiFi network it always has, and the same wifi network the main thermostat was connected to originally.  I believe the initial report was a M15 error. And, I have restarted the app, restarted the thermostat, restored factory defaults, reset / cycled the network and the eero's and the phone. I have turned off cellular on the phone. I am probably 4 hours into this and it is getting ridiculous. I have reviewed all of the "help guides" and learning topics. I am at the end of the road. I'd love some assistance.

Hi Strainer1,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing connectivity issues with one of your Nest Learning Thermostats, and you've already tried several troubleshooting steps. Connectivity problems can be frustrating, but let's explore a few more potential solutions and skip the ones you already did.

For the TD004(3.65) error:

  1. Ensure the device is awake and in ready mode.
  2. Make sure Bluetooth is on. Turn Bluetooth off, then back on to refresh the connection.
  3. Put the mobile device on airplane mode, then turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  4. Quit and restart the Nest or Google Home app.
  5. Restart the phone or tablet.
  6. Move all devices being used for pairing closer to the router.
  7. Restart the router.

For M15 error:

  1. Once you pair the thermostat, choose a mode like Eco, Heat, Cool. Note: Cool mode isn't an available option for EU thermostats.
  2. Go back to the Nest app, and the app will show a circle with an exclamation mark on the Nest Thermostat.
  3. Tap the exclamation mark and continue the thermostat configuration in the app. There's no need for the customer to choose Reset Device on the thermostat.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe

I have done all of these. I can't get the thermostat to complete the pairing. The circle spins but never resolves. I have tried the airplane mode. I have reset everything. The other Nest is not having a problem. I think there is an issue with the specific unit.
