Google no longer support nest thermostats

I bought my thermostat with the Nest app before it was available from Google. So I feel ripped off now that big tech company Google will no longer support the app starting in October 2025. Is there a lawsuit I can join?

Agreed... Eff google... If you search "Paul gojenola email" on google it will actually give you his personal cell phone. He is the hardware vice president at google for nest, pixel, etc. it's his actual number. Unfortunately he won't provide you any support but maybe if everybody starts bugging him he'll stop being a jackass and price gouging everybody.

I’m disappointed also. I really don’t have a need to change my thermostat however I’m disabled and use the voice control which as I understand will also go away. I’m rethinking my strategy going forward when considering what brand to replace it with.

This does feel like there should be a class action lawsuit. Google is forcing the app to no longer function with our fully functional thermostats. The new google nest thermostat doesn’t even use the Nest app but the Google Home app. So why shut down the app that is working for so many people other than to force them to buy a new thermostat. I will we looking at the ecobee products not google.

Completely agree. Bought it because of the app feature. Now being forced to install new device if still want app feature. This is so wrong I'm pissed. I'm with you.

Can we all join together and start a lawsuit as they are no longer offering the main point of the product we bought. I think I’m going to start looking into that.

You can try contacting Paul Gojenola who is the VP of google hardware development.

His cell phone number is listed on google and it does work, I was able to get text message responses from him. It is: *****.

This is a complete theft of consumer rights and a money grab for google. My daughter has one and so do we and now neither one will work except manually. I guess I will just buy a cheap manually thermostat that I don't have to worry about some tech giant deciding they don't want to update the software on so they can force customers to purchase a new model. All these companies gouging consumers need to realize that at some point they won't have any consumers with the money to purchase their products. Those few thousand uber wealthy just won't give them the profit they need to survive.
