We had a new boiler fitted just over a year ago and had a 3rd gen Nest installed with it.
The Nest has been fitted in our hallway and currently has a USB cable hanging down the wall into a plug socket below.
We're in the process of having the house rewired and I wondered if it was possible to fit a transformer and hardwire the wall plate into the electrics so we no longer need the wire dangling down, anyone know if it is possible?
I know it can be wired directly to the heatlink but thatis too far away to run cable to it without destroying half the house!

Hello isitafox,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd love to know more about this.
Could you share a photo of your current thermostat's wiring? Also, from what country are you posting?
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark

Yes I still want to know if it is possible to hardwire the thermostat rather than run it via a usb cable plugged in

I would be happy to try and assist @isitafox . It is not recommended to connect the thermostat to a transformer for power delivery. The wired connection provides both communication and power between the Heat Link and thermostat. If a wired connection is done using a transformer, this can cause unexpected behavior as the thermostat and Heat Link are expecting to transmit data between each other over the wired connection.
