Heat Link won't startup boiler

Hi,

My Nest thermostat has been in perfect condition for well over ten years. Since it's in my second home in a warm climate region, I don't use it much, except for cold winter nights. When I'm away I usually detach the thermostat from the base. Today, after about 6 weeks I reattached it. I had to recharge the thermostat with a USB cable to ensure that it was fully operational. For some reason, I screwed around with the hear link, and had to reset that. Now, the heat link has a constant green light, and the thermostat displays that it is heating. However, the boiler is not running. If I press the heat link button, the boiler turns on (in manual mode). So, what am I doing wrong? Is there some option on the Nest thermostat that I need to enable?

Thanks for you help.

First of all which model do you have, I would think if 10 years you have a 2nd gen? Picture if you don't know.

Removing the display from the base is not the best idea, as it drains the battery so low, it's hard to recover. Just turn the setting on the display to Heat Off.

I would try a full factory reset, as that should solve the problem.

Thanks. I first fully charged the thermostat with a USB cable, then connected it to its base. Everything worked perfectly after that.
