Heat activate

I have a Goodman 18 SEER heat pump with electric back up heat and a Honeywell Home ProSeries thermostat. When I install Nest everything seems to work on cool side. However, when trying to turn on heat it does not work. It activated fan and calls for heat pump but it runs in cooling mode. Any ideas?
