I turned my heater on a few weeks ago and it has been operating per the scheduled on/off times. The outside temperature has been in the freezer the past few days, however this morning it did not turn on until I stepped in front of the thermostat. I have not been able to figure out why it did not maintain the nighttime temperature and heat up to my morning temperature setting. Does anyone have an idea as to why this situation happened? I would like the furnace to turn on tomorrow morning per the set schedule.

Thanks for reaching out. I'd like to know more about it. Checking your thermostat's Energy History will help you see what your thermostat was doing previously. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? In what country are you located? Could you please go to your thermostat's Equipment, and check for any messages or codes there? Also, provide your thermostat's power readout.
