Heat link isn't working

Hi

Last night my thermostat started displaying a H71 error.  Everything was working fine before then and nothing has been moved.  I have a 3rd generation thermostat.  There aren't any lights showing on the heat link.  I've tried resetting the heat link, resetting the thermostat but when it rebooted the error message was still there and still NO lights on the heat link. There is 240v at the heat link.

Hey Burgersauce!

Since your Heat Link isn't showing any lights even after restarting both devices, I recommend a power cycle for the Heat Link itself. Turn off the power to the Heat Link at the breaker box for 30 seconds, then wait for the display to restart (which may take a few minutes).

After the power cycle, your thermostat display might offer an option labeled "Replace heat link." If so, Enter the entry key (located at the bottom of the Heat Link) and choose "Connect."
Before pressing "Connect," I suggest restarting the Heat Link twice by pressing the Heat Link's button until you see a slow blinking light.

Check for any interference between the thermostat and the Heat Link. New Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices can sometimes disrupt communication. The display and Heat Link should be within a reasonable range with a clear line of sight between them.

There's also a possibility of power issues with the Heat Link. Consider having an HVAC technician check the continuity of the wires connected to the Heat Link.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Regards,
Angel
