Heat pump wiring confusion

tekgeek1

Still having heat pump issues - heat is fine but cooling not working.  Here is the original and 2 others and just not confident which one is correct before having to trash the nest!  Also, any additional settings that I need to worry about?  This is a Carrier heat pump.

Hi tekgeek1,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats, but I'm sorry to hear that you're having heat pump issues after installing it. Do you know the function of the X terminal on your previous thermostat? Also, your thermostat wires should be wired to the Nest Learning as shown:

On the other hand, you may follow the steps to troubleshoot strange heating or cooling behavior in this guide.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
