Heating coming on every hour over night

For the last fortnight, my heating (for the hot water) has been coming on every hour through the night.  This is - clearly - not what is scheduled!  At the same time, although not sure if this is a coincidence, or part of the same problem, I am not having hot water when I need it - and am not able to boost from my iphone app despite it telling me that it is boosting.  I can still boost manually.

What is going on?  Is the thermostat broken, or the connector to my boiler?  Or is the problem with the app.  On the first two - my plumber couldn't find any issues.  On the last, I have tried restarting the thermostat, and also deleting and reinstalling the app.

Any advice?

A question: from what country are you posting? Do you have a Google Home app installed on your phone with your thermostat? If so, please check the Routines for any thermostat actions available that might trigger your heating randomly and remove them if needed. Also, disable the auto-schedule and the home and away assist to ensure it only follows your created schedule.
