Heating/ hot water

So, I have heating and I have hot water but when I put the hot water on the heating (radiators) goes cold. I’ve checked the wiring and that seems ok

This shouldn’t happen and the only conclusion I can reach is a faulty motorised valve or the nest can’t do this? Anyone got any advice on this will be appreciated

Hello @Jon13

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention and posting it in the community. I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with your Nest Thermostat.

I understand that it's having trouble heating. Even though the wiring seems to be correct, it's still going cold when it should be on. Don't worry, I'm here to help.

Before troubleshooting, I need to confirm some information.

  • Is the Nest thermostat newly installed?
  • What type of furnace do you have? (gas, electric, etc.)
  • When did heating last work?
  • Did you turn the HVAC system off?
  • Do the LED lights blink on the HVAC control board?
  • Have you experienced any power outages within the last few days or weeks?

Once I have this information, we can begin to diagnose the issue and find a resolution.

Warm regards,

Catheryn
