Help needed with wiring a nest thermostat to my heat pump

uelzi74

Hi! I wanted to exchange my old thermostat with a 3rd gen Nest Smart Thermostat. My system has a heat pump and the following wires:

C, O, B, W/E jumpered to W2, RH jumpered to RC, G, Y.

I already learned not to worry about the RH-RC jumper, that the nest will do that automatically.

Two questions:

What about the W/E-W2 jumper?

What do I do with the O wire?

Thanks for your help!

Hi @uelzi74,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm excited to hear you're considering a Nest Thermostat upgrade. I can definitely help with your compatibility. concerns.

To better assist you, I'd like to ask a question:

  • Do you know if W/E-W2 with a jumper is for Emergency heat or Auxiliary heat?

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
