Home App can’t find my Nest thermostat

I have tried every connection option from the QR code to the six digit code, and no option seems to work to connect my thermostat to my iPhone. The Nest app worked beautifully and seamlessly, but like so many things touches, this seems to have completely killed the functionality.

maybe they should just bring back the app from Nest that worked so well.
