Hey Guys,

I’m replacing my current thermostat with a nest learning thermostat. Attached is a photo of how the current thermostat is wired. There’s a black wire that is not connected to anything. How will I wire this up to my new nest?  Thanks

Hi GABoy,

Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I'm sorry for the delay. I'd like to take a closer look at it. To confirm, in what country are you located? Could you please share a photo of the wires connected to your system's control board? Ensure that the labels of the wires are visible. It will help us to make sure the wiring configuration and the compatibility of your system to the Nest Thermostats.

Best,

Jenelyn

Hi folks,

@GABoy, thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. Fortunately, your thermostat wires are compatible with our Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation and should be wired to the Nest Learning Thermostat as shown:

Thanks for your help, Jenelyn.
