How do you limit access to added family members in Google Home?

Orly

I would like to add a family member to my nest thermostat. Added the member gives them access to everything I control by myself now. You used to be able to add a family member to the Nest thermostat and limit what they could not only control, but any other access. Now, once they become a member, they have access to everything. Not good for me. I don't want them to have access to any of my contacts, email, messages, etc. etc. etc. How is this controlled now? I just want them to be able to adjust the thermostat on their way home with their phone and app. All this overhead to do something the Nest allowed before Google took it over.

As you've probably deduced, there isn't a feature or setting to limit access in the way you described currently. Far from ideal for the kind of reasons you've explained.

This is mostly a user to user community, therefore if this is important to you, I’d encourage you to also send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.
