How can you permanently disable the ECO function, not turn it off. Permanently remove it. I set a temp for a high in the house with the Cool on, and it will turn to ECO and go about 10 degrees above the high I set. It then takes me 6 hrs to cool the house down checking the app every 30 min to turn off ECO. I hate the ECO function as it is broken. If I cannot permanently disable ECO, I will get another thermostat from another manufacturer, and throw this one out.

@Cricard1 , there is a simple fix, just edit the ECO cool setting to the temperature set point your want. It will maintain that set point for you.

Tried that, but the lowest setting ECO will allow is 76 degrees. Does not fix the problem but thanks gor trying

Incorrect. I set it manually to 68 and 71. ECO will not go below 76, so this is still broke. Sorry

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay and thank you for being a step ahead of us. If you don't have a scheduled temperature set, you can try to reset your Nest Thermostat Manual Schedule and turn off your thermostat Auto Schedule. This would help us to ensure that there are no features affecting your thermostat behavior.

I appreciate the help, @CoolingWizard.

Thanks for the response, but in no way addresses my original question. I want to disable ECO as it is broken. I DO NOT want ECO to ever come on. Never.

Hi Cricard1,
I understand. Please try to disable the Auto Schedule and Manual Schedule of your thermostat to isolate the issue further.
You can also follow this guide to turn off Eco:
Thanks,

I have done this over 50 times. ECO still comes on automatically. I want ECO permenantly disabled in my house. I keep saying this but no one can tell me how. Such a poor design.

@Cricard1 , my goodness, what temperature are you trying to set? So your cool setting is 66 degrees? Just turn off your Home and Away feature. When your phone leaves the house, the Away mode is ECO.

I set the settings at 68 and 72, as the temp in my house is not constant in all the rooms. It is an older house, so I keep the temp as stable as possible, but ECO will not allow me to set these settings. I still need to know how to permanently disable ECO so it never comes on automatically. Anyone know how to do this? I am about to but a new thermost and throw out this Nest thermostat

@Cricard1 , as I explain to my last message, to disable ECO function from being engaged you must disable your home and away feature. Other than that, there’s no way to permanently delete or otherwise disable ECO.

I did that, it keeps coming on. So, looks like this is not possible and time to throw it in the trash and replace it. Thanks

I have the same problem. It only temporarily disables it.

@Cricard1 , I am not sure what all you are doing on your end. My system works fine and the ECO mode never activates on its own. Since you no longer want your Nest Learning Thermostat, rather than throw it into the trash, you can feel free to mail to me.

Yes, I do not want ECO to come on at all as it is currently broken. Example, I keep the ac on 68 to keep all the rooms in my older home to average 68F. When ECO comes on, it ignores my temp and the average temp will increase up to 76 average. With us entering the summer, this is unacceptable. My kitchen (without cooking anything) will get up to 80 degrees if ECO is on. This is why I need to control the room Temps and ECO will not work.

I have the same problem it keeps turning on and they seem to have no real solution for this problem. I thought it was soemthing Iw as doign wrong but it's not! Too bad we can't actually speak to a person in customer support to help with a real solution to the issue considering the price of google products!
Their camera is trash too!!

There is no ability in the software to eliminate ECO mode. The only way to disable it is to turn off the Home and Away feature. After that set your thermostat system mode to either Cool or Heat.
ECO is activated when the primary linked phone is away from the home or the user sets system in ECO mode.

Hello everyone,
I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. Let me help you out. Have you set the Eco temperature to off"? Here’s how:
1. Go to Settings on your Nest thermostat.
2. Select Eco.
3. Set Cool to and Heat to OFF.
4. Then select Done.
After you change the settings for Eco Temperature as CoolingWizard suggested, go to Home/Away Assist Setting and select Stop Using. The Nest thermostat will no longer switch to Eco even if there is no one at home.
Check out this link on how to disable the learning feature since you mention that the Nest thermostat keeps on switching to Eco mode. Once you’ve done all the steps, your Nest thermostat will just act just like a regular thermostat; it will no longer switch to ECO and will not automatically change any of your temperatures.
Thanks for the help, @CoolingWizard.
Let me know if that helps.
Best,
Edmond

Sorry, but already tried this. Every night it changes automatically to ECO. We are told it won't, but it does all the time. I can take pics to show. Not a good product.
