How to remove former owner account from Nest Pro thermostat?

Hi. I need to remove the former owner account from the Nest Pro thermostat I just installed. I believe I have to connect I to a pc via USB and deal with a file (seen on an unresolved thread). Thanks!

Have you tried the factory reset? That usually clears the former user.

I'll try it, but it sounded like it wouldn't work

Give it a go, it's hassle, but with luck should work. I clear former users that way.
